ENLIVENING CHANGE

A Social Permaculture Design Course

Hosted by Regenerate Change with Fractal Praxis in Denver, Colorado

February 26th – May 22nd, 2022

Are you yearning to be part of a community of practice that addresses the root ailments of our aching world?

Are you looking for tools to deepen your internal and external skills as a changemaker?

Are you ready to shift your vocation towards greater wholeness?

Join Regenerate Change and Fractal Praxis for Enlivening Change, a four-month immersion in the art of regenerative social design. Through a mix of rich group dialogue, somatic practices, rituals, pattern lessons, guided solo reflection, and an online course portal, you’ll learn how to skillfully shape change in affinity with nature’s principles.

Enlivening Change is rooted in the principles and practices of social permaculture: a design approach that applies an ecological understanding to personal, interpersonal and cultural systems. It employs many of the same philosophies and practices as land-based permaculture, adapted to social contexts. As a participant in the course, you’ll learn the fundamentals of social permaculture with the full group while focusing and reflecting your practice through one of three streams:

STREAM A: SELF AS SYSTEM

In this stream, we’ll delve into our own mind-bodies as natural living systems that profoundly shape and are shaped by the world. We will study mind, myth, being, “spiritual experiences” and brainwashing from a natural systems perspective, and develop a systemic approach to creating a more whole self. You’ll complete this stream with the tools and confidence to effectively intervene in your own unsustainable beliefs and behaviors.

STREAM B: THE SOMATIC EXPERIENCE OF HEALING JUSTICE

We are beyond pretend. This stream is for those who are willing to come out of hiding and move into the rhythm of their medicine work. As we explore healing the body as ecology, we expand our notion of belonging to include healing the body politic. We will use three healing modalities: yoga Nidra,  bioregional herbalism and fermentation as a lens and praxis of understanding self, partnership and culture as ecosystem. We’ll fill our shared container with the contours of our own rhythms, and hold space with integrity, lived experience, compassion and play. Will you join us?

STREAM C: COMMUNITY DESIGN

Beneath any number of the crises facing our world is a meta-crisis of separation from our fellow human beings. In an age of quarantine, polarization and Zoom fatigue, what does authentic, transformative community actually feel like? And how can we learn to create it?

As a participant in this stream, you’ll be exploring these questions as you cultivate a practice of nurturing thriving and whole communities of all kinds, from social groups to workplace teams to residents of the same block. We’ll explore an abundance of ancient and modern social technologies that generate trust and cohesion, learn how to “compost” conflict, and hone our own unique superpowers for activating wholeness within community.

LEARN HOW TO...

  • Identify the conditions for thriving community in any setting, at any scale
  • Apply a whole-systems design lens towards solving life’s challenges
  • Identify and embody solutions that mimic the intelligence and resilience of natural systems
  • Build rich and vulnerable relationships with like-minded peers
  • Strengthen your skills, toolset and support system as a changemaker.

COVID POLICY

Two years into this ever-changing pandemic, there are many different approaches to dealing with it and varying levels of risk tolerance in our community. Our goal as your hosts and facilitators is to ensure that every participant feels able to participate safely according to their own level of acceptable risk.

With that aim in mind, here are our current COVID guidelines for Enlivening Change; these may be subject to change as local case rates and the virus itself continues to evolve.

  • Every participant will be required to EITHER provide proof of full vaccination in advance of the first weekend, OR provide negative results on a COVID PCR test the week before each gathering.
  • Our main classroom will be in a large, well-ventilated space that will allow for participants to socially distance while learning. We also have access to outdoor areas, and will be spending as much time outside as the weather permits.
  • We’ll be encouraging all participants to wear face masks whenever they’re indoors, and requiring mask wearing if there is a local or state-level mask mandate in place.
  • Participants will be required to stay home if they present any COVID symptoms within five days before a course weekend.

Please let us know using the form below if you have any additional concerns, questions or requests regarding COVID safety, and we’ll do our best to address them!
